S.T.E.M - STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and maths. It pervades every area of our lives! Science is everywhere, especially in the natural environment. Technology is growing at an unprecedented rate and an ever-increasing range of jobs will be within the technological industry in the future. Engineering is the basics of building but also tackles challenges of sustainability and living in an environmentally friendly way. Maths is a basic skill we need and transferring these skills into another context helps children develop skills and confidence. Taking STEM activities outside encourages children to become more resourceful and challenges them in new and interesting ways.

Within this workshop we will undertake a range of STEM challenges outside, from building dens to exploring some of the scientific studies and awards systems which you could potentially use at home. You will leave with experience of a range of activities which you could try at home and an idea of where you can find more STEM challenges for your family to enjoy.
